The Town of Ophir is conducting a Request for Proposals for qualified consultants to review an avalanche hazard study report. A copy of the Report and specific desired consultant tasks can be obtained by visiting www.town-ophir.co.gov or by contacting Rebecca Levy, Town Administrator, at 970.728.4943 or admin@town-ophir.co.gov .
Proposals should include a statement of qualifications, description of similar projects related to evaluating avalanche hazards, knowledge of avalanche hazard modeling, cost estimate, and timeframe for completion.
Proposals should be submitted to the Town of Ophir, in Word or PDF form, to admin@town-ophir.co.gov or to Town of Ophir, P.O. Box 683, Ophir, CO 81426.
Specific Desired Consultant Tasks:
Review new Art Mears report for methodology and accuracy.
Compare new Art Mears report with prior 73/74 study and advise on differences in hazard evaluation methodology.
Advise the Town of Ophir on common and best practices for evaluating and regulating avalanche hazards.
